London: 20 October 2009 Flash Alert! Flash Alert! Flash Alert! Day seven of last months festival in London and I am still catching up with the editing. Happily, clips of celebs are timeless. It is a lovely day and I get to see Emma Thompson (who plays the headmistress in the film) so the waiting is worth it. The festival brought fans from around the world as usual and my fanline neighbours on this occasion were from Spain and fans of the channel no less. Hola! The internet is truly a marvellous tool. Emma is always lovely with the crowd and today was no exception. She arrived early, signed and chatted along the line for ages as well as doing the obligatory media duties. Carey Mulligan is very popular with fans but only sign at the drop off point where the usual suspects hung about. Fans near me were unable to persuade her to come over. Shout loud for who you want dear fans, is my advice to premiere goers. Dominic Cooper signed the fanline He is well known to one and all at the barrier. There were plenty of other celebs at this gala event too. Nick Hornby the screenwriter, photographer Mary McCartney, pop artist Tracy Emin with interior designer Nicky Haslam in tow, Atonement actor Benedict Cumberbatch, and author of the original memoir were all captured.
